DC Flex | Wheeler Creek Commun - Housing Stability for Washington D. C. Families The DC Flex Rent Program , administered by Wheeler Creek CDC , provides rental assistance to help low-income families and individuals achieve housing stability and financial independence.
Participants can receive up to $8,400 annually for families or $7,200 annually for individuals , with flexible use to meet unique housing needs. $8,400 annually in rental assistance for families. $7,200 annually in rental assistance for individuals.
Monthly funds are deposited directly into a participant’s checking account. Financial coaching and educational resources to promote long-term housing stability. Participants can adjust the amount of rent covered monthly based on their financial situation.
To qualify for the DC Flex Rent Program, participants must meet the following requirements: Income: Annual household income must be at or below 40% of D. C.' s median income.
Residency: Participants must reside in Washington, D. C. , and be leaseholders of a rental unit within the District.
Employment: Participants must demonstrate recent or current employment. Family Eligibility: Families must include at least one minor child under the participant’s physical custody. Program Details for Families Families enrolled in the DC Flex Program can receive up to $8,400 per year , and may remain in the program for up to five years .
Participants must recertify their eligibility annually with DHS, show proof of employment after the first year, and attend two financial coaching sessions and one financial management session per year. You can continue to use the funds as long as you don't exceed your yearly allocation.
