United Way of Delaware and Delmarva Power Unite to Help Delawareans Offset Rising Utility Costs Wilmington, DE — (March 9, 2026) United Way of Delaware and Delmarva Power Unite to Help Delawareans Offset Rising Utility Costs Eligible customers may receive up to $500 in utility bill assistance; applications open March 9. United Way of Delaware (UWDE) today announced the launch of a new round of funding for utility relief through the Delaware Delmarva Power Customer Relief Fund, a program that provides direct utility bill assistance to limited- and moderate-income Delmarva Power residential customers in Delaware.
The program is funded by a generous grant from Exelon, Delmarva Power’s parent company, and this latest round of funding is administered by UWDE. The fund will provide up to $500 in assistance for dual-service households and up to $300 for single-service households. Applications open March 9, 2026, and will remain available until funds are exhausted.
As many Delaware families continue to face financial strain from rising energy costs, this program aims to help households maintain essential electric service and avoid service disruptions. “Rising energy costs are putting real pressure on Delaware families and forcing difficult financial decisions,” said Michelle A. Taylor, President and CEO of United Way of Delaware.

This is a one-time fund, and customers who have already received assistance from the Customer Relief Fund, including through Energize Delaware, are not eligible to apply again. Individuals who need assistance completing their application can contact Delaware 211 by dialing 2-1-1 on their mobile phone and selecting option 6. Both the information page and the registration form are available in English and Spanish.
