Delmarva Power Customer Relief Fund

Delmarva Power Customer Relief Fund is sponsored by United Way of Delaware (funded by Exelon – Delmarva Power). This program provides assistance to eligible Delmarva Power customers with high utility bills. Eligible customers must have a balance of at least $250 and a moderate household income (between 60% of the state median income and 350% of the poverty level).

Delmarva Power Customer Relief Fund - Energize Delaware Delmarva Power Customer Relief Fund Delmarva Power Customer Relief Fund – available only to Delmarva Power electric/gas customers The Delmarva Power Customer Relief Fund is made possible through a one-time $4. 5 million charitable contribution from Exelon, Delmarva Power’s parent company, to the Delaware Energy Fund, and is designed to support limited to moderate income customers.

The Fund was established this year through collaboration with Governor Matt Meyer , legislators , utilities , and the Sustainable Energy Utility (DBA Energize Delaware) , who will manage the Fund , administer grants through the newly launched program, and assist eligible customers with applying. This fund cannot assist with billing and meter related questions the way your local utility can assist. Active limited or moderate-income Delmarva Power residential electric and/or gas customer Limited income households Household income that currently qualifies for LIHEAP Moderate income households Household income above LIHEAP qualification up to 350 percent of federal poverty level and Carry a balance of at least $250 All customers must complete their Energize Delaware Home Energy Checkup and Counseling (HEC2) SCHEDULE AN HEC2 APPOINTMENT Delmarva Power DE Income Guidelines (Monthly) 60% SMI (Limited Income) 350% FPL (Moderate Income) 1 person – $3,145 One-time per household; up to $300 in utility bill assistance Funds are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis Approved grants will be credited to customers’ Delmarva Power account Customers with disconnected service: If a customer’s past-due balance exceeds the eligible credit amount and their service has been disconnected and finalized, they are not eligible for the Customer Relief Fund .

If the eligible credit covers at least 75% of the balance due, and the customer can make payment on the previous account to reconnect service, they will be considered eligible for the Customer Relief Fund . View Next Steps PDF here in English and Spanish .

There is no deadline to apply to either the Delmarva Power Customer Relief Fund or the Delaware Energy Fund. Programs will be available until funds run out. How will customers receive relief?

Can I apply for both the Delmarva Power Customer Relief Fund and Delaware Energy Fund? No, customers are only eligible to participate in one program and may not participate in both programs. Eligible Delmarva Power customers will participate in the Delmarva Power Customer Relief Fund and all other utility customers may be eligible for the Delaware Energy Fund.

When the Delmarva Power Customer Relief Fund has been expended, Delmarva Power customers may qualify for the Delaware Energy Fund so long as they meet program qualifications. How do I know if I’m eligible? Delmarva Power customers should visit our Delmarva Power Customer Relief Fund page here .
