The Delta Regional Authority (DRA) is a federal-state partnership that invests in economic development across 255 counties and parishes in eight states along the lower Mississippi River and Alabama Black Belt regions. Celebrating its 25th anniversary, DRA focuses on basic public infrastructure, workforce training, and business development in economically distressed communities.
The authority measures impact through jobs created, jobs retained, individuals trained, and families affected. Recent investments include nearly $29 million for infrastructure and flood control, $10 million in disaster recovery relief, and millions directed to communities across Alabama, Arkansas, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, and Tennessee.
DRA also offers a Leadership Development Program and funding for Local Development Districts.

Homepage - Delta Regional Authority This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Delta Regional Authority—a significant milestone that honors a quarter-century of investment, federal-state collaboration, and transformation across the lower Mississippi River and Alabama Black Belt regions.
Since 2000, DRA has partnered with communities and organizations to invest in projects supporting basic public infrastructure, workforce training, and business development.
As we commemorate 25 years of impact, we remain focused on creating jobs, building communities, and improving the lives of those that reside in the 255 counties and parishes in parts of Alabama, Arkansas, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, and Tennessee. Though rich in natural and human resources, the Delta lags behind the rest of the United States in economic growth and prosperity.
The region suffers from a greater proportion of measurable poverty and unemployment than any other region in the United States. DRA places a special emphasis on areas that are the most economically distressed to ensure that communities across the region have access to economic opportunity.
Strategic Investments for Impactful Outcomes DRA measures the impact of our investments through four main outcomes: jobs created, jobs retained, individuals trained, and families affected.
