Understanding the Grant Application Process The Foundation awards grants annually to eligible organizations in Louisiana and Mississippi, where our operating companies are located as shown on our service territory map . com . Criteria Eligible or Ineligible Nonprofit organization recognized as a tax-exempt entity under Section 501(c)(3) as a public charity in accordance with Code 509(a) and maintain good standing. (If an organization is exempt under Section 509(a)(3), it must be Type I or Type II.)

Eligible Primary address located within Delta Utilities’ designated service areas (Appendices A and B in the Guidebook) Eligible Public charity or private foundation that qualifies as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt entity Eligible Function as a school, hospital, governmental unit, or religious institution that holds nonprofit status similar to that of 501(c)(3) organizations Eligible State or local government, but only if a donation is made exclusively for public purposes Eligible War-veterans organization that qualifies as a 501(c)(19) tax-exempt entity Eligible Volunteer fire department that qualifies as a 501(c)(4) tax-exempt entity Eligible School clubs or organizations, including, but not limited to, bands, athletic or academic teams, booster clubs, PTO/PTA Ineligible Meals, tickets, dues, memberships, fees, travel, tuition, subscriptions, and other tangible benefits Ineligible Organizations that discriminate on the basis of race, culture, gender, sexual orientation, age, or religion Ineligible Political, labor, military, international, or fraternal organizations Ineligible Childcare fees/subsidies or K-12 tuition Ineligible Individuals or previous grantees who have not submitted the required reporting Ineligible Sponsorships, fundraisers, races, telethons, marathons, benefits, banquets, galas, golf tournaments, festivals, or other events Ineligible Debt retirement or funding of any activity that is already completed Ineligible Contests, competitions, athletics, pageants, or talent contests Ineligible Scholarly or medical research Ineligible 509(a)(3) Type III supporting organization charity Ineligible Endowments or scholarships Ineligible Payment of utility bills Ineligible Activities whose sole purpose is the promotion or support of a specific religion, denomination, or religious institution Ineligible Grants to individuals or loans of any type Ineligible Organization owned or operated by an employee, board or committee member, or volunteer of Delta Utilities Ineligible At Delta Utilities, employee volunteerism is a core part of our commitment to the communities we serve.

We are building a tradition of giving back by supporting meaningful ways for employees to invest in their local communities. Guided by our focus areas of Community Vitality and Environmental Resiliency, we have launched initiatives that encourage collaboration with community partners. These initiatives promote hands-on volunteerism and team-based efforts that foster connection and purpose.

To enhance our impact, we have introduced DU Impacts. Through this program, employees donate to causes they care about or take part in volunteer service projects supported by the Delta Utilities Foundation. Together, we are creating a lasting impact both within our company and in the communities we serve.
