DEP Tree Maintenance Grants Available # DEP Tree Maintenance Grants Available Grants Posted on April 29, 2026 The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) has announced the availability ofMunicipal Tree Maintenance Grants to support local governments in maintaining and improving community tree canopies.
This initiative is designed to assist municipalities with tree pruning,removal, and completing general maintenance activities that enhance public safety;improve environmental conditions;address hazardous trees;reduce storm-related risks;and support long-term canopy. Municipalities are encouraged to prepare projects that align with local forestry plans and strategies as additional guidance.
