SafetyWorks Training Grant * This page, SafetyWorks Training Grant, is offered by * Department of Industrial Accidents # SafetyWorks Training Grant SafetyWorks Training Grants help employers reduce the risk of injury and illness to workers and promote safe and healthy conditions in the workplace through training, education, and other preventative measures.
The SafetyWorks Training Grant _**(also known as the Workplace Safety Grant)**_ administered by the Office of Safety within the Department of Industrial Accidents (DIA) and established under M. G. L.
c. 23E, § 3, provides eligible Massachusetts-based employers in good standing with funding for employee training to prevent or address workplace injuries. Employers may request up to $25,000 per grant.
Grant awards are determined based on available funding and subject to review and approval by the DIA Office of Safety. Massachusetts employers in good standing who are covered by the Workers' Compensation Act (MGL c. 152) are eligible. 1.
Apply online by submitting your training proposal to the Department of Industrial Accidents (DIA) Office of Safety during the application period. 2. Receive a decision from the DIA Office of safety.
3. If approved, sign your contract and complete the in-person training with an approved provider. 4.
Please submit your training costs for reimbursement within two weeks following the completion of each training class. Completion of a training class means that all sessions associated with the scheduled training have been completed. After that time, the Office of Safety may contact you to schedule a **required web-based, invoice reimbursement meeting** to help process outstanding invoices.
The SafetyWorks Training grant is a reimbursement-based program. In order to quality for reimbursement, all training must be approved and completed only after the contract is executed by all parties. **Reimbursement may not exceed the approved grant amount**and may be denied if training providers are changed without the prior approval and authorization by Office of Safety.
