Digital Equity Accelerator Program

Digital Equity Accelerator Program is a grant from the HP Foundation that funds nonprofit and for-profit organizations working to expand digital access and economic opportunity for underserved communities. Selected organizations receive $100,000 in HP Foundation funding plus approximately $100,000 in HP technology and solutions, alongside a six-month virtual capacity-building program.

Since 2022, the program has served 35 organizations across 13 countries, reaching an additional 11. 3 million people. In 2026, the program focuses on the future workforce, specifically targeting youth, on-demand workers, and small businesses.

Eligible applicants include local nonprofits, NGOs, and for-profit organizations with active legal registration capable of receiving funds from a U.S.-based 501(c)(3) organization.

The Accelerator helps scale the impact of organizations that are working to change this.

Frequently Asked Questions How do you define the future of work? We define the future of work as the evolution of today’s workforce and economic landscape brought on by the rapid rise of AI and other technological advancements.

This evolution is impacting both workers and employers as the demand for jobs and requisite skills changes. While opportunity is inherent in change, it can only be unlocked by those with adequate resources, including access to technology and the skills to use it. What’s new for the program in 2026?

In 2026, the 5th year of the Accelerator will be: 1. Open to both nonprofit and mission-driven for-profit organizations for the first time. 2.

Based in the U.S., where we piloted the program in 2022 alongside India and Morocco. 3. Focused on future workers that are most vulnerable to economic shocks—targeting youth, on-demand workers, and small businesses.

What do selected organizations receive through the Future of Work Accelerator? The 2026 Accelerator will provide five selected organizations with: - USD$100,000 in funding from the HP Foundation - HP technology & solutions valued at USD$100,000 - Six-month, virtual training program by HP and its social impact partners, MIT Solve and Global Impact Advisors, designed to strengthen organizational capacity and scale impact.

Why is HP investing in the Future of Work Accelerator? HP is committed to helping disconnected communities participate and thrive in the future of work. Nonprofit and for-profit organizations both play a valuable role in providing resources to these communities.

Yet many face their own barriers to resources—time, staff, and financial support—which can challenge their ability to scale fast enough to meet growing needs. Through a combination of funding, training, and mentorship, the Accelerator can help organizations strengthen capacity and scale innovative approaches to closing the digital divide. What are the reporting requirements for the Future of Work Accelerator?

We request reporting on direct and indirect reach at baseline (1 year period prior to participation), 6 months, 18 months, and 2. 5 years after starting the program. We also request reporting on additional quantitative or qualitative information on participant outcomes and impact, but we do not have a list of required indicators given the variation in programming across organizations working to close the digital divide.

Are you requesting the number of people reached by the organization overall or for a specific program? What do you mean by indirect reach? In general, we are interested in the organization’s overall reach with related programming, unless your participation in the Accelerator will be limited to staff from a specific program within a larger organization with minimal interaction of staff working on, or supporting, other programs.

We do not request reporting of participant reach from other programming your organization may provide that does not pertain to addressing the digital divide. Are there any requirements to apply? Applications for the 2026 Accelerator are now closed.

Beyond aligning with the Accelerator’s focus on the future of work, your organization must: - Be based and legally registered in the U.S., and have related programming primarily conducted in the U.S. - Reach an average of 25,000 people annually. - Have moved beyond the idea stage into execution, i.e., have active programs or initiatives that you will focus on during the program.

com Qualified organizations must meet the following: Hold active legal registration as a not-for-profit organization Be capable of receiving funding from a U.S.-based 501(c)(3) organization Perform majority of work in support of people and communities in Greece, Indonesia, Nigeria, and Spain Be committed to advancing more inclusive and equitable access to education and economic opportunities Focus primarily on equipping historically disconnected youth and adults with critical skills needed to participate and thrive in an increasingly digital economy Currently reach at least 10,000 beneficiaries (direct and/or indirect) through the work that would be further scaled through the Accelerator program.

Participants with any level of direct interaction/engagement in your program may be counted as a direct beneficiary. Individuals who are not interacting directly with your program, but who are served by the skills and knowledge acquired by your direct participants may be counted as indirect beneficiaries.

Assign a primary contact for the Accelerator program that possesses fluency in English (note: The Accelerator program curriculum, mentoring, and communications are delivered in English language only). The rise of generative AI is transforming the future of work, at risk of leaving those without fluent digital skills behind and further exacerbating the digital divide.

Therefore, we particularly encourage organizations with AI solutions that advance digital equity and strive to address the growing disparity to apply.
