This topic aims to accelerate the adoption and deployment of cloud-based AI systems running European AI algorithms for medical image screening, with a focus on the early detection and diagnosis of cancer and cardiovascular diseases. Two projects will be funded under this call for proposals.
These projects will pilot the deployment of cloud-based AI systems to: Improve efficiency in detection and diagnostic workflows in the areas of cancer and/or cardiovascular diseases Support the prioritisation of critical cases Reduce pressure on radiology services Contribute to more equitable access to screening services, including in underserved regions This topic contributes to the Apply AI strategy .
In particular, the flagship initiative European AI-powered advanced screening centres , which will speed up the introduction of innovative AI solutions for disease prevention, early detection and diagnosis, and support Europe’s fight against cancer and cardiovascular diseases.
