Digital Health Initiative University of Utah Health The Digital Health Initiative is pleased to announce its Inspiring Digital Health Innovations Seed Grant Program. These grants seek to build upon existing strengths in digital health at UUH and develop the preliminary data and research collaborations required for developing competitive grant applications and/or commercialization opportunities.
The Digital Health Initiative is thrilled to announce the fourth round of Digital Health Innovations seed grant program aimed at catalyzing new collaborations and innovative research in digital health. Pilot awards will be supported up to $50,000 with a potential additional $25,000 for projects that engage the Software Development & Systems Design Core (SD2C) as a development partner.
Applications will be due on March 16th, 2026 at 11:59 PM MST via InfoReady: https://utah. infoready4. com/#freeformCompetitionDetail/1999558 We invite applications that build upon University of Utah Health’s existing strengths in digital health and generate preliminary data and/or collaborations that position teams for competitive external funding or commercialization.
Areas of interest include, but are not limited to, the following: Development and investigation of new digital health tools addressing needs of clinicians, patients, and populations Use of digital health tools to facilitate personalized, value-driven, patient-centered care Integration of patient-generated health data with clinical data to improve outcomes Novel applications of gaming techniques to critical digital health research questions Note: Projects involving applications of AI or data science components (such as the development of prediction models or data interoperability with existing systems or devices) may be considered only if at least one of the proposal’s specific aims involves design and/or evaluation of the technology by clinical end users (e.g. user-testing or pilot implementation with clinicians or patients) PIs must not have received seed grant or recruitment funds from the DHI within the past three funding cycles (i.e. since July 2023) Only one research proposal per principal investigator (PI) will be reviewed All PIs must be at least 0.

Seven University of Utah Health projects have received seed grants that could promote the development and use of more scientifically based digital health applications in daily health care. The seed grant projects will receive up to $50,000 for one year.
The researchers will develop, test, and evaluate digital applications that fall within one of the four main areas of interest within the DHI: Mobile apps and games for health Virtual reality and sensors Clinical decision support tools Integration with electronic health records (EHR) Health Records and Community Service Integration of the Going Home Toolkit Explainable AI for Equitable Risk Stratification of Atrial Fibrillation and Stroke Spanish Language Translation and Preliminary Feasibility of NeuroFlex: A Digital Cognitive Intervention for Late Life Depression Remote Sensing of Autonomic Function and Mobility Coupling Using Wearables to Monitor Recovery After Mild Traumatic Brain Injury Patient Generated Health Data for Geriatrics Patients Expanding the Capability of Intraprocedure Anesthesia Information Display and Pharmacology Forecasting Broadening the Impact of Symptom Care at Home Through EHR Integration and Implementation Science

NCI Continuing Umbrella of Research Experiences (CURE) Academic Career Excellence (ACE) Award (K32) is a grant from the National Cancer Institute (NCI) that funds early postdoctoral fellows from diverse backgrounds, including underrepresented groups, to pursue research training in cancer-related fields.
