Who is eligible for DigitalOcean Startups? How do you select DigitalOcean Startups members? We prioritize AI-native startups.
Service-based startups (consulting services, web/app development services, marketing agencies, etc.) are not eligible. New applicants are evaluated using the following criteria: Must have raised $10m or less. Must have a company website, and an email address associated with the company website.
Must create a registered DigitalOcean team account with a business/company email (not a personal email account). How do I know if my accelerator/incubator/VC firm has a relationship with the DigitalOcean Startups? Please see our portfolio partner list .

How many credits do I get? DigitalOcean awards startups credits through approved DigitalOcean Startups partners. To learn more about your eligibility award level, please contact your program manager at your DigitalOcean Startups Partner.
What if I have already received credits for my startup? This program is for new startups that have not used prior credits with DigitalOcean. How do DigitalOcean credits work?
You will be given a pre-determined amount of credits as set out in your onboarding email to be used over the term of the program with Qualifying Program Services. Participants generally are entitled to a $10,000 monthly limit (and charges apply for any use in a month exceeding this amount). When accepted into the program, what types of services can I use with my credits (“Qualifying Program Services”)?
As of May 13, 2026, you may use your credits on any DigitalOcean services, except as to the following: NVIDIA H100 GPU Kubernetes Serverless Inference, Third-party AI models hosted outside of DigitalOcean Infrastructure (including commercial/frontier models, including but not limited to Anthropic and OpenAI) Any other charges passed through to third-party providers outside of DigitalOcean's infrastructure This set of credits are referred to as “core” credits.
GPU credits are a separate benefit and will not be covered by the core credits received when initially accepted into the program. Acceptance into the program does not ensure entitlement of GPU credit benefits, and are made available to select customers after review of their GPU credit application and infrastructure needs. DigitalOcean Startups core credits do not cover your GPU Droplet usage, and may only be used with Qualifying Program Services. Your account's payment method will be charged for usage of GPU Droplets and any other services not appearing on the Qualifying Program Services. Can you help migrate my customers from other public clouds to DigitalOcean?
Yes, we have migration plans, technical assistance, and credits available to make it easy for your clients. How do I receive access to the DigitalOcean Startups perks? You can access DigitalOcean Startups' perks through the Welcome Kit that you receive when you're accepted into the program.
What happens if I go over the monthly credit limit? If you go over the monthly credit limit, you will be charged for the additional usage for that month. Can I transfer my DigitalOcean credits?
No. The DigitalOcean credits are designed to help you scale your infrastructure and are not transferable. If you do not use the credits, they will be forfeited. I haven't been able to spend all my credits.
Can I get an extension? The DigitalOcean Startups program does not grant extensions. From GPU-powered inference and Kubernetes to managed databases and storage, get everything you need to build, scale, and deploy intelligent applications.
