Disability and Rehabilitation Research Projects (DRRP) Program | ACL Administration for Community Living Disability and Rehabilitation Research Projects (DRRP) Program Disability and Rehabilitation Research Projects (DRRP) Program Results-Oriented Highlights The Disability and Rehabilitation Research Projects (DRRP) funding program supports projects that carry out one or more of the following activities: research, development, demonstration, training, dissemination, utilization, and technical assistance.
The purpose of the DRRP program is to plan and conduct research, demonstration projects, training, and related activities to develop methods, procedures, and rehabilitation technology that maximize the full inclusion and integration of individuals with disabilities into society, employment, independent living, family support, and to promote economic and social self-sufficiency and improve the effectiveness of services authorized under the Rehabilitation Act.
NIDILRR funds several types of DRRPs, including: Knowledge Translation projects Model Systems in traumatic brain injury and burn injury (Note: SCI Model System is not included with the other model systems as a DRRP because it has its own statutory authority) ADA National Network projects Individual research projects.
The first four types of DRRPs are managed as separate programs and the above hyperlinks point to a separate page for each program. Therefore, only individual research DRRPs are described here under the general DRRP heading. DRRPs differ from RRTCs and RERCs in that they generally do not provide training and technical assistance.
Awards range in length from three to five years. Eligible applicants are institutions of higher education, nonprofit organizations, and other organizations and/or agencies. The tips below should make it easier to understand what ACL/NIDILRR DRRP grant numbers mean: All ACL/NIDILRR DRRP grant numbers begin with 90DP. If the two letters following the "DP" in the grant number are AD , then this DRRP grant belongs to the ADA National network. If the two letters following the "DP" in the grant number are BU , then this DRRP grant belongs to the Burn Model Systems.
If the two letters following the "DP" in the grant number are CP , then this DRRP grant belongs to the Community Living and Participation NIDILRR Outcome Domain. If the two letters following the "DP" in the grant number are EM , then this DRRP grant belongs to the Employment NIDILRR Outcome Domain.
If the two letters following the "DP" in the grant number are GE , then this DRRP grant is a general grant that does not easily fit into any of NIDILRR's other funding mechanisms or outcome domains. If the two letters following the "DP" in the grant number are HF , then this DRRP grant belongs to the Health and Function NIDILRR Outcome Domain.
If the two letters following the "DP" in the grant number are KT , then this DRRP grant belongs to the Knowledge Translation (KT Program). If the two letters following the "DP" in the grant number are TB , then this DRRP grant belongs to the TBI Model Systems.
