Division of Boating and Waterways Local Assistance Boat Launching Facility Grant Program FY27 is sponsored by Department of Parks and Recreation. Provide resources to local agencies to develop or improve public boat launching facilities, primarily for motorized vessels. In accordance with Section 72.
5 of the Harbors and Navigation Code, Boat Launching Facility (BLF) grants are provided to local government agencies for the construction or improvement of boat launching ramps, restrooms, boarding floats, shore protection, parking for vehicles and boat trailers, and ancillary items.
Also included in the grant are monies to pay for engineering, construction inspection, permits from regulatory agencies, special studies, construction contingency, and other project related costs. The primary purpose of the grant is to provide and improve access to California’s waterways by the recreational boating public using trailerable watercraft.

Division of Boating and Waterways 2026 Boating Infrastructure Grant is sponsored by Department of Parks and Recreation. Provides funding to construct or improve infrastructure used by transient recreational vessels 26 feet or more in length. The Boating Infrastructure Grant program is designed to provide infrastructure and services for recreational boats 26 feet or more in length. Goals of the program include: 1. enhance access to recreational, historic, cultural and scenic resources; 2. strengthen community ties to the water’s edge and economic benefits; 3. promote public/private partnerships and entrepreneurial opportunities; 4. provide continuity of public access to the shore; and 5. promote awareness of transient boating opportunities.
Division of Boating and Waterways Aquatic Center Boating Safety Education Grant FY26 is sponsored by Department of Parks and Recreation. Provide boating safety education to the general public. These grants are available to organizations that offer on-the-water boating safety education courses. Courses offered should be designed to enhance boater knowledge of boating laws, practical handling of vessels on the water, weather and water conditions, rules of the road, and equipment requirements.
Statewide Park Development and Community Revitalization Program (SPP) – Round 5 – Proposition 4 is sponsored by Department of Parks and Recreation. The Statewide Park Development and Community Revitalization Program (SPP) that helps support the acquisition and development of new parks and the renovation or expansion of existing parks in critically underserved and climate-vulnerable communities. Grant Description: Helps support the acquisition and development of new parks and the renovation or expansion of existing parks in critically underserved and climate-vulnerable communities. Deadline: Applications must be submitted online by December 17, 2026. Grant Amount per Application: • Maximum grant request: $8,500,000 • Minimum grant request: $200,000 No Match. Eligible Applicants: Cities, Counties, Districts, Joint Powers Authorities, and Non-profits organizations. Eligible Costs: Acquisition of land, pre-construction (design, permits, etc.) and construction costs. The grant may pay for 100% of total project cost. If the project requires additional funds beyond the grant request, those additional funds must be committed at the time of application. Otherwise, the applicant should scale the project down to a phase that can be completed and open to the public with the grant by itself or grant plus committed funds. Projects in economically disadvantaged communities with a lack of parks are prioritized. Parks designed with community residents' ideas through community-based planning and partnerships with health organizations are encouraged.
