DoorDash Local Business Disaster Relief Fund DoorDash Local Business Disaster Relief Fund DoorDash’s Local Business Disaster Relief Fund awards $5,000 grants to select local businesses¹ affected by severe natural disasters. To date, DoorDash has awarded nearly $10 million, helping hundreds of small business owners rebuild.

How the Disaster Relief Fund works DoorDash activates the fund to help businesses and the communities they serve respond to major disasters . We activate the fund on an as-needed basis and encourage eligible merchants to apply. When the fund is activated to respond to a specific disaster, we’ll open up an application.

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis , each disaster-specific fund is typically open for 4-6 weeks . Applicants will be notified of their status within 30 days of the application deadline . Selected grant recipients will receive the funds the month after the application period closes.

What the Disaster Relief Fund can cover This funding is designed to help you get back on your feet and continue serving your community.

Examples of expenses this fund can cover are (but are not limited to): Utility reconnection fees to restore power, gas, or water service A week or two of payroll to keep your core team intact while you rebuild Inventory restocking to get items back on the menu or shelves Equipment replacement or repair that insurance won't cover or takes too long to process Emergency cleaning, sanitation, or debris removal costs to meet health and safety standards for reopening Short-term storage fees for salvaged equipment or inventory Temporary signage or supplies to let your neighborhood know you're back open This program prioritizes small businesses that are on the DoorDash platform, including but not limited to restaurants, flower shops, liquor stores, convenience stores, pet stores, and local grocery stores.

A brick-and-mortar location No more than three total locations 50 or fewer employees per location Been open for at least six months $3M or less in revenue per location in the last 12 months Located in United States, Puerto Rico, New Zealand, Australia, or Canada Been impacted by an eligible state- or federally-declared natural disaster (e.g., wildfires, hurricanes, earthquakes) Join the DoorDash community on Hello Alice to receive preparedness education and community support.
