Dow Sustainability Grant Initiative (Community Orchard/Environmental Initiative) is sponsored by Dow Company Foundation, in partnership with Central Kentucky Community Foundation (CKCF). This opportunity supports mission-aligned projects and measurable outcomes.

Dow Sustainability Grant – Central Kentucky Community Foundation Dow Community Grant creates Sustainability Initiative Dow Company Foundation, in partnership with CKCF, has established a $425,000 sustainability grant initiative that includes a community outdoor space, an investment in environmental strategies, and a support space for area nonprofits created in the spirit of philanthropy.

Our community will benefit from Dow’s generosity for generations to come. A community effort to grow relationships, collaboration, community, knowledge, planting partners and food. The community orchard offers a way to engage people with their food supply, nature, and the life cycle.

It involves the public, nonprofit and private sectors, engaging the community in a living example of sustainable food supply and long-term community engagement. Located on acreage at Elizabethtown’s Nature Park, this orchard offers the opportunity to build out walking trails, benches, community garden, peach garden and amphitheater in conjunction with the orchard.

Dow Community Environmental Initiative Waste reduction efforts are challenging in our state and our local government can’t do it alone. By working together – philanthropy, the public sector and individuals can make a substantial impact to reduce our carbon footprint. Small changes in our behavior, can make a big impact on our planet.

Dow has pledged to be the catalyst for community recycling infrastructure and other environment efforts. By cultivating public and private partnerships this sustainable system will incentive those involved to implement composting and recycling programs locally. Join us as we explore and pursue waste reduction strategies here in our community.

We will be looking for ideas in areas such as: Public space recycling program School-based recycling program Increase public drop-off recycling opportunities The Community Hall in the Home of Philanthropy serves as a common place for many organizations. Nonprofit from the region utilize the Community Hall for group meetings, civic events and instructional forums, in-person or virtually.

This showcases Dow’s longstanding commitment to the community and investment in philanthropy. The Community Hall supports nonprofit work and community initiatives helps bring life to new ideas, offers a place for nonprofits to convene, collaborate and host meetings, trainings, and more, all supporting a sustainable nonprofit community in the region.

The Community Hall features – Multiple Layout Options – Breakout Meeting Spaces – State-of-the-Art Technology Seats up to 250 theater style or 140 classroom or banquet style. Rental rates vary on type of use. Free or a nominal fee for nonprofit partners and community initiatives.

The success of these programs will be accomplished through collaborative efforts from the community. Each person has something to contribute, and we value that. We believe that by working to help foster sustainable environmental growth, will in turn, help with personal fulfillment.
