and/or Ph. D. degrees may apply.

Rally funds pediatric cancer research in the following areas: Innovative approaches to research that could lead to advanced studies, better delivery of treatment or clinical translation. Basic science studies that are likely to lead to a new discovery. Personalized, targeted, alternative or integrative research proposals.

Under-studied cancer types. Quality of life, survivorship and palliative care studies. Data utilization through data standardization, collection, storage, analysis and sharing.

*The Outside the Box Grant has unique research priorities that are not outlined above. Please consult the Outside the Box Grant guidelines for the specific research priorities relevant to this funding opportunity. The following will not be reviewed: Grants that have no direct relevance to pediatric cancer nor fall within the scope of the Collaborative Grant Application Guidelines.

Proposals for funding of infrastructure programs. Incomplete applications and/or applications received after the deadline. A Collaborative Pediatric Cancer Research Awards Program utilizes ProposalCentral for application submission.

Postdoctoral and Clinical Research Fellow Grant – Grants are up to $50,000 per year for one or two years of support. Fellows in the last year of their fellowship are only eligible for a one-year grant and may apply through the Independent Investigator Grant the following grant cycle. The Collaborative Organizations have an interest in funding Postdoctoral and Clinical Research Fellows.

A portion of available funds are reserved for Fellow Grants contingent on scores received. Independent Investigator Grant – Grants are up to $50,000 per year for one or two years of support. Researchers under this award identify as either a Young Investigator or an Independent Investigator.

Young Investigators are no more than five years post fellowship. The Collaborative Organizations have an interest in funding Young Investigators. A portion of available funds are reserved for Young Investigators contingent on scores received.

Consortium Grant – Grants are up to $100,000 per year for one or two years of support. Consortiums are at least three institutions, each with a unique contribution, collaborating on a grant-supported research project. Outside the Box Grant – Grants are for one year of support.

At the end of the award, researchers may apply for additional funding in the next grant cycle through a Fellow, Independent Investigator or Consortium Grant, as appropriate. Each grant will be awarded $50,000 for one year. *Please note that not all grants are awarded in full.

Award amounts are determined by a competitive peer-review process and scores received. How do I determine which grant type to apply under?

A. To determine whether to apply as a fellow or young investigator, consider your position within the institution as of the start of the award period, July 1. Fellows in the last year of their fellowship may only apply for one year of funding.

They may apply again the next year as a young investigator. Young investigators are up to five years post fellowship and independent investigators are more than five years post fellowship. A consortium is at least three institutions, each with a unique contribution, collaborating on the proposed research project with the lead institution housing the principal investigator.

Q. Is there a limit on the number of Letters of Intent that an institution or principal investigator may submit? A.

No, there is no limit on the number of Letters of Intent that may be submitted by an institution or principal investigator. Q. How do I access the Letter of Intent application?

A. Applicants must submit proposals electronically through ProposalCentral, an electronic grant submission system provided by Altum, Inc. Access ProposalCentral at https://proposalcentral. com/ and look for A Collaborative Pediatric Cancer Research Awards Program on the Grant Opportunities tab.

Q. How do I request a no cost extension? A.

No cost extensions must be requested and approved. Please email LeighAnna@RallyFoundation. org to receive guidance.

Requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis and should be submitted no less than 10 days before the end of the grant period. Q. What if I need to amend my grant budget?

Provide a revised budget and justification. Q. What if I have grant funds remaining at the end of the grant period?
