DSA Supported Research | NC State Data Science and AI Academy The Data Science and AI Academy (DSA) connects faculty across disciplines to advance research in data science and AI. The Office of University Interdisciplinary Programs (OUIP), in partnership with Arts NC State, is offering mini-grants to support collaborative projects at the intersection of arts/design and science/engineering.
These awards encourage teams of artists, designers, scientists and engineers to create work that interprets, enhances or challenges scientific research while expanding NC State’s growing Art + Science portfolio. Projects may span any discipline, with particular interest in molecular innovation, data science and AI, and the future of useful plants.
Since 2021, DSA has awarded $1,363,005 to 37 interdisciplinary research teams from all 12 colleges and the NC State University Libraries, working to solve critical challenges through data science and AI research. Many of these teams have published their work in esteemed journals, been awarded further research grants and formed strong research collaborations across the university.
