Early Intervention Equity Project

Early Intervention Equity Project is a grant from the Stella and Charles Guttman Foundation, Inc. that funds nonprofit organizations advancing equitable access to early intervention services and early childhood programs in New York City.

Recent grants have supported early intervention equity work in the South Bronx, Northern Manhattan, and Staten Island, as well as early childhood mental health initiatives, assistant teacher training for home-based providers, and community spaces for early childhood programming. A recent example grant was $60,000.

Eligible applicants are nonprofit organizations, with a foundation focus on New York City-based early childhood and family programs.

Carnegie Hall Weill Music Institute In support of the Lullaby Project for families with young children at hospitals and shelters in the Bronx, Queens, and Manhattan.

Children's Museum of Manhattan In support of the expansion of Learning Hubs that integrate museum-quality installations, and a comprehensive workshop series designed for children, caregivers, and staff at six shelters in New York City.

Citizens' Committee for Children of New York In support of the Early Intervention Equity Project in the South Bronx, Northern Manhattan and Staten Island and a forum showcasing recommendations to strengthen early intervention access and delivery in New York City. In support of an Early Childhood Mental Health Initiative in Forest Hills and Little Neck, Queens.

In support of an onboarding and training initiative for assistant teachers at home-based providers in Jamaica, Queens. In support of an early childhood community space in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. Jeremiah Program Brooklyn In support of a structured academic and family centered hub for single mothers attending college and their young children.

In support of the expansion of the Pre-K STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) Enrichment Program at early care and education centers in Corona, Queens. In support of the Prenatal and Postpartum Wellness Center in the Washington Heights and Inwood communities of upper Manhattan. In support of the Family Partnership Initiative at the organization's domestic violence shelters in New York City.

In support of Wonder With Me, an infant mental health training initiative for families, community members, and the organization's staff throughout New York City. University Settlement of New York In support of a community clinician for the Butterflies early childhood mental health program in East New York, Brooklyn.

International Aid and Development Trust of Programs for Early Childhood Family and Community Education c/o New Israel Fund In support of the Mother-to-Mother program, a parenting support initiative focused on young children living in four Arab-Israeli communities.
