This initiative enables neighborhood groups, public schools, and their associated parent-teacher organizations to receive trees at no cost, supporting community greening and education in Edmond. Administered by the City of Edmond's Urban Forestry Division , eligible groups within city limits can request seedlings, as well as 3-gallon or 15-gallon containerized trees.

These trees may be planted within managed areas and include a street tree component for residences. Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. This collaborative effort between the City of Edmond, residents, and schools is designed to expand Edmond’s tree canopy, especially in areas not typically reached by other Urban Forestry programs.

By partnering with local groups, the City of Edmond hopes to foster a greener, more vibrant community. “Trees are a valuable resource in neighborhoods and recreational spaces, delivering improved air quality, cooler temperatures, UV ray protection, energy savings, health benefits, beautification, and increased property values,” said Leigh Martin, City of Edmond Principal Urban Forester.

“By providing trees through this grant, we help residents and schools make lasting positive impacts on their communities. ” The Edmond Tree Grants program encourages community involvement and offers education about tree planting and care.
