Education and Community Funding is sponsored by Bank of Marin. Bank of Marin invites education-focused 501(c)(3) organizations in ten Northern California counties to apply for funding that supports youth financial literacy, STEAM education access, and youth mentorship, among other areas.

Charitable Grants Program - Bank of Marin Community Grants for Nonprofit Organizations Bank of Marin provides community grant funding to nonprofit organizations that strengthen the communities we serve, with an emphasis on underserved populations. Nonprofit organizations may apply for community grant funding during the annual application period.

We encourage applicants to review eligibility requirements and funding priorities before submitting an application. One application cycle is offered each year. Applications are accepted during designated periods each year.

Eligibility & Giving Priorities To be considered for grant funding, organizations must meet the following requirements: Registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization Serves communities within Bank of Marin’s geographic footprint Community & Economic Vitality Priority is given to programs serving underserved and low- to moderate-income communities. The application cycle typically takes place in the fall, with funding decisions made by March of the following year. How much funding can organizations request? Grant amounts vary based on available funding and alignment with giving priorities.

Most grants range from $2,000 to $7,000, with limited exceptions. Can an organization apply more than once per year? Organizations may submit one application per grant cycle.

What types of requests are not funded? Ineligible requests may include: Requests outside our geographic footprint Political or religious organizations (unless services are non-sectarian and open to the broader community) Organizations that redistribute funds to other organizations (pass-through organizations) How and when are decisions communicated?
