and around the world, including international peace initiatives.

Grant partnerships support the goals and priorities of ELCA World Hunger, Lutheran Disaster Response, AMMPARO, ELCA Advocacy, global mission and endowment funds for sustainable development, humanitarian assistance, advocacy, education, networking and supportive services for vulnerable communities. Grants Match Need With Help Around the World All people live in God’s grace and deserve to thrive in peace and abundance.

Our grants and partnerships are a powerful combination, helping communities everywhere understand, address and overcome challenges arising from wars, disasters, climate change, social injustices and historical inequities. Community Resilience, Support & Justice Grants Advocacy Partnership Grants These grants are awarded to organizations whose mission serves to deepen and further the goals and priorities of ELCA advocacy.

Partners will submit plans to show how their project or initiative will support, complement, and collaborate with the ELCA to advance public policy priorities and advance justice, peace and the integrity of creation. Applications are by invitation only, issued by the ELCA Witness in Society team.

‍See Instructions to Register The AMMPARO grant process began in 2017 as a way to support and extend the work that Welcoming and Sanctuary Congregations and Synod AMMPARO and Immigration Task Forces do as a part of the ELCA AMMPARO strategy. Only synods and congregations that have joined the AMMPARO network are invited to apply.

‍ See Instructions to Register These grants are awarded to members of the ELCA State Public Policy Office (SPPO) network whose mission serves to further the goals and priorities of ELCA advocacy. Partners will submit plans to show how their state-based advocacy will support, complement, and collaborate with ELCA Witness in Society in areas of public policy work and civic engagement.

Applications are by invitation only, issued by the ELCA Witness in Society team. Grants are currently open. Grants close February 21, 2024 ‍See Instructions to Register ELCA World Hunger is accepting a Letter of Inquiries as a first step in the process for Domestic Hunger Grants.

ELCA World Hunger domestic grants accompany congregations and their partners throughout the United States and Caribbean as they draw on the strengths of communities to address local issues such as food security, clean water, housing, job readiness, human rights, policy change, leadership development and more.

Hunger Education and Networking Grants can be used for U.S.-based projects and in general, are not intended for direct service.

Lutheran Disaster Response-US (LDR-US) grants provide support for disaster relief, recovery, risk education, and/or resilience. LDR-US does not accept unsolicited requests for support, and grants are only available for entities directly affiliated with LDR-US. In this way, our staff can dedicate its resources to grantmaking within our defined programs, strategies, and geographies.

Companion churches and organizations, Interchurch Ecumenical partners (e.g. LWF, LWR, CWS, WCC, ACT Alliance). These grants are for implementation OUTSIDE the United States and U.S. Territories. ‍See Instructions to Register Diakonia And Development Grants (International) These grants accompany international companion churches and organizations in their development work.

Sectors include health, water, agriculture, food security, livelihoods, education, advocacy, disaster risk reduction and preparedness, peace and reconciliation, gender justice, work with refugees and migrants, and others. These grants were formally entitled "Sustainable Development Grants" and are also known as World Hunger grants.

Companion churches and organizations, Interchurch Ecumenical partners (e.g. LWF, LWR, CWS, WCC, ACT Alliance). The grants provide support for disaster response, preparedness, disaster risk reduction, recovery work of companion churches and organizations, interchurch and ecumenical partners (e.g. LWF, LWR, CWS, WCC, ACT Alliance). Sectors include shelter, non-food items, water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH), nutrition, protection, psychological support, peace and reconciliation, and others.

Companion churches and organizations, Interchurch Ecumenical partners (e.g. LWF, LWR, CWS, WCC, ACT Alliance). These grants are for implementation OUTSIDE the United States and U.S. Territories.
