Elevate Career and Technical Education (CTE) Innovation Grant-Competitive Elevate Career and Technical Education (CTE) Innovation Grant-Competitive Division: Teaching and Learning View Published NGO Document (Microsoft Word) The Elevate Career and Technical Education (CTE) Innovation grant provides schools with the opportunity to modernize and enhance a Career and Technical Education (CTE) program of study within one of New Jersey’s Key Industry Sectors that concentrates on the following initiatives: Curriculum Enhancement: Revise the program of study curriculum to incorporate innovative concepts and applications to prepare students for careers of the future.
Upgraded Facilities, Equipment, and Technology: Upgrade equipment and technology to support enhanced curriculum aligned to evolving business or industry standards, ensuring that students gain hands-on experience with state-of-the-art tools relevant to their field, including facilities upgrades to support all students.
Professional Development for Instructors: Training programs and professional learning opportunities that foster innovative teaching methods, equipment, and resources that reflect current and emerging industry practices. Work-based learning and opportunities beyond the classroom: Providing students with the opportunity to engage in real-world professional environments through partnerships with local businesses or industries.
The New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE) has established a single 12-month project period grant program. This grant program is open to LEAs with grades 9-12 currently eligible to receive Perkins funding. The CTE program of study must be currently approved, aligned with New Jersey’s Key Industry Sectors, and actively serving students.
Through this grant opportunity, up to six LEAs will be awarded (two highest scoring per region of the State: north, central, and south). Applicants may apply for up to $50,000. Based on the availability of Federal Perkins Leadership funding, this grant program will begin July 1, 2025 and will end on June 30, 2026.
