Call Elisabeth & Amélie Fund - access to water - 2026 | King Baudouin Foundation The Elisabeth and Amélie Fund supports initiatives of Belgian organizations active in Africa, Latin America and Asia , which work with a local partner to improve access to water in a sustainable way.
The Elisabeth & Amélie Fund's 2025 call for projects will focus on water management in family farming, based on the principles of agroecology and resilience to global change. Water is a shared resource: it is necessary for cultivating land and watering livestock, but also for meeting the drinking water and sanitation needs of the local population.
In a context of increasing climate change and pressure on natural resources, sustainable and equitable water management is becoming increasingly crucial.
Submitted projects will include: - Different aspects of integrated water management in family farming (availability of and access to good quality water, protection of the resource, efficient use, reduction of losses, limitation of contamination, effective governance, coordination, etc.). Particular attention will be given to projects presenting structural preventive solutions.
- A concerted approach by the various stakeholders involved in a shared resource . - Concrete measures for a better distribution of responsibilities and tasks within the family unit and its community. - An awareness-raising component among various stakeholders and the community on topics of water management, the environment and agroecology practices, and hygiene.
