and William S. Elkin Fellowship in Oncology The Nell W. and William S.
Elkin Fellowship in Oncology was established to support an exceptional scientist and clinician with career goals in cancer research and treatment. The fellowship provides $35,000 for one year, intended to help cover partial salary, laboratory or other research expenses, or travel. A discretionary account will be set up for use by the recipient’s department.
Chester P. Rochfort Scholarship in Oncology The Chester P. Rochfort Scholarship in Oncology was established to assist young MD degree holders in cancer research.
The scholarship provides $10,000 for one year, intended to help cover partial salary, laboratory or other research expenses, or travel. A discretionary account will be set up for use by the recipient’s department.
To be eligible for this award mechanism, the applicant must meet the following criteria: Physician (MD, MD/PhD) with enrollment within the Emory University School of Medicine or Rollins School of Public Health Fellowship or Residency Programs Awardee must be in an oncology field with career goals in the research and treatment/prevention of cancer Awardee must be a Winship Trainee Member (if you are not a member, apply via the Trainee Completed applications should be uploaded online as a single pdf document no later than 11:59 pm on Friday, May 1, 2026.
