Emergency Assistance Program (EAP) is sponsored by Helping Hands Hawaiʻi. Helping Hands Hawaiʻi's Emergency Assistance Program provides one-time support for eligible families with first month's rent, past-due rent/mortgage, utility bills, and utility deposits for electric, water, and gas.

Our immediate concerns are the overall wellbeing of our families across the islands and their ability to meet basic needs Liliʻuokalani Trust is providing kōkua through one-time emergency stabilization financial assistance for those who qualify.

Along with other community resources, we strive to collectively support our kamaliʻi & ʻohana. Eligible families must have a Hawaiian kamaliʻi (child ages birth to 17 years old) residing in the household of the requestor and they must have legal authority to request this assistance; There must be a direct financial impact resulting from COVID-19 (e.g., job loss, reduced hours, quarantine).

Requestors are asked to provide documentation, if possible. The requestor and kamaliʻi are not currently enrolled in Liliʻuokalani Trust services (e.g., case management, youth development programs). Eligible applicants must be willing to contribute 30% of household's gross income toward rent and utilities. At least one adult family member must be employed 20+ hours per week for a minimun of 3 months. Completion of Money Smart Certification.

org Helping Hands Hawaii's EAP program provides financial assistance service for individuals and families who are currently homeless, or who are at imminent risk of homelessness due to eviction or utility disconnection. The program may be able to provide limited rental (first month's rent or past due rent) and utility assistance (past due bills for electric, water & gas).

Individuals and families must be able to provide verification of homelessness, or that they are at imminent risk of homelessness. Must attend a financial literacy workshop.
