Angel Foundation™ | Emergency Financial Assistance Program Emergency Financial Assistance The Emergency Financial Assistance program provides a one-time grant for basic, nonmedical needs to relieve immediate financial concerns for cancer patients in active treatment. These grants can be used to pay for expenses such as food, rent, gas, utilities, phone bills, car payments or repairs, and more.
To be eligible to receive Emergency Financial Assistance, you must: Be in active treatment for cancer (transplant, chemotherapy, clinical trials, hormone therapy, hospice, immunotherapy, palliative care, radiation, or surgery.) Meet the financial guidelines set by Angel Foundation™. Not have received financial assistance from us before.
Our disbursements are only available once. Be a Minnesota or Wisconsin resident living in or being treated in our service area (Anoka, Carver, Chisago, Dakota, Hennepin, Isanti, Olmsted, Ramsey, Scott, Sherburne, St. Louis, Washington, or Wright Counties in Minnesota, and Douglas or St.

Please use your existing profile. You can apply for each of our programs using that profile. Will I qualify for a grant if I am not living in or treated in the Angel Foundation™ service area?
No. To qualify for financial assistance from Angel Foundation™, you must be a Minnesota or Wisconsin resident living in or being treated in the following counties: Anoka, Carver, Chisago, Dakota, Hennepin, Isanti, Olmsted, Ramsey, Scott, Sherburne, St. Louis, Washington, or Wright Counties in Minnesota, and Douglas or St. Croix Counties in Wisconsin.
If you do not live in our service area, please contact the American Cancer Society for resources in your area. Will I qualify for a grant if I do not have cancer? No. We only serve adult cancer patients in active treatment living in or being treated in our service area.
Please contact the United Way for additional financial assistance resources. What does Angel Foundation™ consider to be “active treatment” for cancer? A patient is in active treatment if they have received chemotherapy, clinical trials, hormone therapy, immunotherapy, or radiation in the past 30 days, or has one of these treatments scheduled within the next 30 days.
Patients who have had surgery with a recovery time of longer than 4 weeks or a transplant within the last 90 days or are in palliative care or hospice also qualify. Does Angel Foundation™ offer grants for pediatric patients (under 18)? No. Please contact the Pinky Swear Foundation for financial assistance for pediatric cancer patients.
How much are Angel Foundation™ grants and what can a grant be used for? Angel Foundation™ grants range from $700 for a household of one, $800 for a household of two, or $1,000 for a household of three or more. Grants can be used to help pay for basic, non-medical needs.
These include checks for rent or mortgage, utilities, phone and internet payments, auto payments, auto insurance payments, and auto repairs. Gift cards for food and fuel are also available from Cub Foods, Holiday Stationstores/Circle K, Super One Foods, and Walmart. We do not cover medical bills, medical insurance, cable TV bills, credit cards, or personal loans with our grants.
