The Emergency Food and Shelter Program (EFSP) provides federal funding to local social service organizations to help expand their capacity to provide food, shelter, and rent/utilities assistance programs to people with economic emergencies, not disaster-related emergencies.
Funds must be used to supplement feeding, sheltering (including transitional sheltering), and rent/mortgage and utility assistance efforts only.
