Emergency Utility and Rental Assistance

Emergency Utility and Rental Assistance is sponsored by Catholic Charities Lawton Regional Office. Provides emergency assistance for utility and rental bills to individuals and families in need in Lawton and surrounding areas.

## Utilities & Rental Assistance Applicants can qualify for emergency utility assistance by bringing in a current utility bill, proof of current and identifiable income, and a valid piece of personal identification. Those requiring rent assistance will also need to provide a copy of the lease in the applicant's name. All recipients of assistance will be required to enroll in a budgeting class.

These services are provided regardless of religion, race, creed, or socio-economic status. The immigration legal services program at Catholic Charities exists to provide information and legal services to low-income individuals and families who face obstacles to family unity and/or diminished personal, social, and economic opportunities and a result of their immigration status. Must be able to verify low-income status.

You are ineligible if you have ever served a prison sentence, if your case is employment-based, if you have a criminal record, and if you exceed the income requirements.

The following services are also provided: consultation, representation, family petitions/registry, political asylum, deportation/removal proceedings, Violence Against Women Act petitions, naturalization/citizenship, green card replacement, victims of human trafficking/crime, and legal education.
