com/impact/#toggle-box) ## Our impact extends beyond the protective and life-saving solutions we deliver to address health threats around the world. We’re committed to being a responsible corporate citizen: contributing to the well-being of the communities we’re part of while continually working to evolve how our company operates. > As a mission-driven organization, I think volunteering is an important part of our culture at Emergent.
When we can help people, we should. > — Liz Hanpeter, VP Global Government & Public Affairs Emergent GIVES is part of our effort to create thriving communities. Through employee volunteerism and charitable donations, we provide support to organizations that align with our focus areas and mission to build a better, safer tomorrow.
* Geographic Requirements for Giving Your organization must be within 20 miles (32 kilometers) of, or specifically serve, Lansing, Michigan, or Winnipeg, Manitoba. * Eligibility Criteria for Giving Charitable donation decisions made by Emergent are at its sole discretion. They are final and not subject to appeal.
Charitable donations must adhere to our internal policy requirement and undergo a review and approval process to ensure the donation is not being given to induce or reward individuals or organizations for past, present or future purchase, prescription or recommendation of any Emergent product. Donation decisions are made independent from our product sales and marketing activities.
It is also important to understand that our corporate social responsibility program does not process grant requests for independent scientific research, medical education or commercial sponsorship, which are governed under separate procedures.
We will not consider requests for, among other things: * An individual person or family or for the personal benefit of a customer, supplier or employee * Association memberships or dues * Political campaigns, causes or events * Alumni fundraising drives * Continuing medical education, investigator-initiated research studies or collaborative research studies (direct these requests to Medical Affairs) * Non-academic extracurricular school activities or clubs (such as a sports team) * Infrastructural projects (such as facility expansion or repair) * Memorial funds or crowdsourcing campaigns (such as GoFundMe) * Professional or amateur sports events, teams or athletes * Religious organizations (except for programs that are broadly promoted, available to anyone and free from religious orientation) * Fraternal or labor organizations * Special occasion goodwill advertising, including ad books, programs and yearbooks * Travels, tours or recreational activities * Payment of staff salaries not aligned with a specific project or program * Donations made directly to an individual (e.g., HCPs or patients/consumers) in a position to prescribe or influence prescription, purchase or dispensing of an Emergent Product, or to organizations or institutions (e.g., physician’s practices) on behalf of, or in the name of, a specific individual in a position to prescribe or influence purchase, prescription or dispensing of an Emergent product to charitable organizations over the past 2 years.
We prioritize these focus areas when evaluating giving opportunities: **Advancing public health** Improving the health and well-being of communities through areas that align with our industry and operational expertise. **Educating tomorrow’s scientific leaders** Supporting STEM programs that cultivate young scientists and broaden participation of underrepresented groups, all focused on inspiring tomorrow’s workforce.
**Protecting those who protect us** Partnering with organizations committed to assisting military veterans and their families, as well as healthcare workers and first responders. ## 2026 Cycle A Donations Twice per year, our Emergent GIVES teams review donation requests from dozens of organizations in Lansing, Michigan, and Winnipeg, Manitoba, to determine which projects and initiatives are best aligned with our focus areas.

MMRS is the Lansing region’s largest and longest-serving nonprofit provider of substance use recovery programs. Drug and alcohol treatment is a long-term commitment that frequently requires patients to put their lives on hold. They often come out of treatment jobless.
To help set them up for success when they leave the program, residents of the MMRS recovery housing unit are eligible to enroll in the Lightkeepers program, which provides paid on-the-job training in building trades.
In addition to gaining dignity of work, learning marketable skills and earning an income, the Lightkeepers program enhances and expands the same programs that served these residents and helps MMRS to serve the community better. To further support MMRS, our Lansing employees annually pack hygiene kits containing items such as soap, toothpaste and combs for clients to receive upon arriving for treatment.
## Environmental, Social and Governance Being a responsible corporate citizen means continuing to evolve and improve how our company operates. We strive to deliver on our high standards daily and work to ensure that in doing so, we consider our impact on the environment, society and those within our value chain.
