Emerging Philanthropists Fund Emerging Philanthropists Fund Register for CFCI Annual Meeting! Emerging Philanthropists Fund Emerging Philanthropists Fund Grant Applications Open Through June 10, 2026 Each year, as the Emerging Philanthropists Fund grows, a portion of the fund is regranted back into the community. For the 2026 grant cycle, organizations can apply for a grant up to $5,000.
Emerging Philanthropists Fund Grantmaking Principles: Organization must be a 501(c)3, church, school, or unit of government. Preference given to grassroots organizations with projects that are smaller in scope. Evidence-based programs addressing a significant community need.
Programs that are unique and identify unmet needs in the community. Programs that are innovative in nature. Programs that are collaborative by leveraging resources and cultivating partnerships.
Empowering the next generation of changemakers. The Emerging Philanthropists Fund is an initiative of the Community Foundation of Central Illinois (CFCI) that brings together emerging leaders who are passionate about making a difference in their community. This dynamic group is made up of professionals from across central Illinois who enjoy connecting, learning, and giving back, together.
Through collective contributions, members grow the Emerging Philanthropists Fund, an endowed fund that supports critical community needs through an annual grantmaking process. This giving circle model allows members to amplify their impact without needing significant personal wealth. By pooling donations, the fund grows, allowing for a portion to be granted to local nonprofit organizations each year.
Members contribute $100 (or more) annually to the fund. CFCI facilitates the grantmaking process, providing members with resources and guidance. Members vote on which nonprofit receives funding each year.
