Energy Efficiency And Renewable Energy Programs For Farms | Rhode Island Office of Energy Resources Public Notice of Proposed State Plan for Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) In accordance with Rhode Island General Laws (RIGL) 42-35, notice is hereby given that the Rhode Island Office of Energy Resources proposes the State Plan for the Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) Grant which is funded through the United States Department of Energy for Program Year 2026 (July 1, 2026-June 30, 2027).
This proposed state plan is accessible on the Office of Energy Resources' website https://energy. ri. gov/ or available in hard copy upon request (401) 602-4844.
A public hearing will be held to consider the proposed plan on Monday, August 31, 2026, from 11:00 A. M. to 12:00 Noon at the Rhode Island Office of Energy Resources, 1 Capitol Hill, 4th Floor, Providence, RI 02908.
Persons wishing to testify may do so by signing up at the hearing or by submitting written testimony by Thursday, August 27, 2026, to the Rhode Island Office of Energy Resources, 1 Capitol Hill, Providence, RI 02908, or by email to Timothy. D. Lett@energy.

Energy Efficiency And Renewable Energy Programs For Farms RI Agricultural Energy Grant Program The Rhode Island Office of Energy Resources (OER) manages the Agricultural Energy Grant Program that provides grants of up to $20,000 for eligible energy efficiency and renewable energy projects located on farms throughout Rhode Island.
Our goal is to support clean energy projects in the agricultural sector. Funding for the Agricultural Energy Program is made possible through Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI) auction proceeds, with a maximum award amount of $20,000 per project to support the agricultural sector's clean energy transformation.
Interested applicants should review the Program Guidance document and ensure applications comply with program terms & conditions. Applications should be sent via email to Abigail. Hasenfus@energy.
ri. gov on or before the listed closing date of the funding round to be considered. Grant awards are subject to availability of funds and are awarded at the sole discretion of OER; submission of an application does not guarantee an award.

The Agricultural Energy Program is designed to support the adoption of energy efficiency and renewable energy projects at agricultural operations in Rhode Island.
The Program can also leverage other state and federal incentives available to RI farmers, including the Renewable Energy Fund, USDA's Rural Energy for America Program (REAP), the Federal Investment Tax Credit, and Rhode Island Energy’s energy efficiency incentive programs. Additionally, there are federal incentive programs designed to help provide funding for farm energy projects.
