EnergyUnited Foundation Grants for Individuals and Households is sponsored by EnergyUnited Foundation. The EnergyUnited Foundation provides financial assistance to individuals and households within EnergyUnited's electric service area who are experiencing unusual and/or unexpected problems and are in grave need of assistance.

EUF Application - EnergyUnited Generators & Surge Protectors Net Metering & Renewables Since 1996, the EnergyUnited Foundation has been supporting households and nonprofit organizations across our service area — and it’s all thanks to the generosity of our members who round up their monthly bills as part of Operation Round-Up.

Funds donated by EnergyUnited Electric Membership Corporation members are awarded by EnergyUnited Foundation’s Board to individuals and households who are suffering unusual and/or unexpected problems and are in grave need of assistance. Grants may be used to pay for shelter, utilities, emergencies, and other humane needs. Grants may also be provided to non-profits serving these same essential needs.

In 2025, we reached a major milestone of giving: $10 million in total charitable donation since the Foundation’s inception. We are so grateful to all the members who enrolled in Operation Round-Up to make this possible. Please note: To receive assistance from the EnergyUnited Foundation, you do not have to receive electric power from EnergyUnited, but you must reside within EnergyUnited’s electric service area.

Operation Round-Up is a powerful way for EnergyUnited members to help others in their community by rounding up their monthly bills.

The EnergyUnited Foundation is funded entirely by the generosity of members who give through our Round-Up program. Donations can be as little as a penny or as much as 99 cents, which may not seem like much, but these small amounts add up quickly, making for a greater impact on the lives of other community members in need. We’re here to ensure your safety and comfort when temperatures drop.

The EnergyUnited Foundation Board meets on the third Tuesday of every month. You will be notified via email within 3 days of this meeting with a decision to either support (full or partial funding) or deny your request. However, if you submit your application after the 25th day of the month, your application will not be processed for two months.

If my application is not approved, when can I apply again? You are eligible to apply for a grant once every six months. Can I apply for a Heating Assistance/Energy Assistance grant and request funds and a regular grant in the same year?

Yes, members can apply for both grants in the same year as long as you meet the eligibility requirements. What is the maximum dollar amount that I can apply for? Individual members can apply for up to $5,000/year per individual (household of 1) or up to $10,000/year per household.

What is the maximum dollar amount a nonprofit can apply for? Normal disbursements may range up to $10,000 with special contributions occasionally exceeding this amount. If my grant is denied can I appeal that decision?

To ensure confidentiality, decisions made by the EnergyUnited Foundation Board of Directors will NOT be discussed with anyone. Reasons for Board decisions will not be given to anyone, including the applicant, if the request is granted or denied. Applicants can reapply in six months.
