This funding opportunity supports comprehensive research, implementation science, and public health evaluations in Kenya to inform best practices for preventing and responding to infectious disease threats.
The program aims to both generate actionable evidence for U.S. and global preparedness and strengthen local research capacity, specifically through collaboration with the Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) and the Kenya Ministry of Health (MoH).
Projects must address four priority areas: Influenza and other respiratory pathogens Vaccine-preventable diseases Drug-resistant infections Global and emerging health threats (e.g., malaria, HIV, TB, schistosomiasis) The recipient is also responsible for research coordination and administrative activities to ensure program compliance, effective management, and organizational strengthening.
