Enterprise Development and Financial Inclusion (Equity Group Foundation) is sponsored by Equity Bank Kenya. Through its Entrepreneurship program and in collaboration with the Mastercard Foundation for the Young Africa Works Kenya program, Equity Bank provides funding, advice, and mentorship to micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs).

In partnership with Governments, Humanitarian and Development agencies, the Foundation transforms lives and livelihoods by providing inclusive financial services to thousands of marginalized and vulnerable households living in Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda and South Sudan through these strategic initiatives.

Education And Leadership Development By providing access to secondary and tertiary education, EGF to date has supported over thirty-seven thousand students at over 700 public secondary schools via its groundbreaking Wings to Fly program.

Enterprise Development and Financial Inclusion Micro, Small and Medium Entrepreneurs (MSMEs) receive mentorship and entrepreneurship training, providing access to financial services to low income entrepreneurs.

Farmers supported to access agricultural finance To date EGF’s agriculture program has supported small-scale peasant farmers transforming them into agribusiness entrepreneurs, increasing their production, business and technology capabilities. Clean Energy Products Distributed EGF addresses the challenges faced in developing nations by increasing awareness of the benefits of clean energy for cooking and lighting.

EGF has distributed 560,078 energy products benefiting an estimated 1. 72 million individuals. EGF increased access to high quality health services including financing and options for poor and middle income families.

EGF has seen a total of 286,103 patients being served since inception as out-patient care.

Through the Equity Leaders Program (ELP) bootcamps, Peter successfully applied to study abroad and was accepted at the University of Toronto, where he pursued a degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering as a Mastercard Foundation Scholar. Agnes did her KCSE and was the top student in Elgeyo Marakwet county after scoring an A of 86 points, this enabled her to join ELP Class of 2014. Agnes holds an MSc.

in Data Science, Technology; Innovation from The University of Edinburgh and a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from The University of British Columbia.
