Worldwide—Integrated Natural Resource Management (INRM) Activity · DAI: International Development Worldwide—Integrated Natural Resource Management (INRM) Activity Client: U.S. Agency for International Development Coordinating and integrating biodiversity conservation with other development efforts, where appropriate, can provide a powerful opportunity to address the multifaceted challenges people face to add value and produce longer-lasting development outcomes.
The Integrated Natural Resource Management (INRM) Activity provided technical assistance, facilitation, adaptive management, and innovative tools and approaches to help USAID drive the uptake and operationalization of its Environmental and Natural Resource Management (ENRM) Framework in five areas: Assisting missions with the analysis and development of an evidence base to support integrated ENRM programming; Supporting and facilitating the design and adaptive management of ENRM programming; Testing innovative approaches for integrated ENRM programming; Supporting monitoring, evaluation, and learning for integrated programming; and Supporting communications and knowledge management initiatives for integrated programming.
Partner subcontractors included Social Impact, New America, The Center for Biodiversity and Conservation at the American Museum of Natural History, the University of Rhode Island Coastal Resource Centre, Resource Equity, Conservation Strategy Fund, and Stantec. Assist Missions with analysis and development of an evidence base to support integrated ENRM programming.
Provide Missions with direct and indirect support in integrated program design, the adaptive management of those programs, and the optimization of cross-sectoral programming Help USAID identify new ideas and opportunities to pilot approaches in ways that allow for continuous learning and build the capacity of USAID to test innovation. Develop an ENRM Advisors Program to drive ownership of the Framework across USAID missions.
Secured buy-ins and activities involving more than 30 USAID operating units to generate and synthesize evidence, provide direct support and facilitation, and develop guidance and tools Developed 246 products to facilitate integrated natural resource management programming Responded to 115 requests for assistance Provided more than 20,000 days of direct support and facilitation Created 225 outreach activities and products to disseminate learning Liberia—Long-Term Technical Assistance for the Implementation of the Voluntary Partnership Agreement (FLEGT-VPA) This project increases the value of traded timber products, strengthen forest law enforcement and governance, and share forest benefits more equitably through implementation of the Forest Law Enforcement, Governance, and Trade Voluntary Partnership Agreement between Liberia and the European Union.
