Environmental Science Resource Grants Program

Environmental Science Resource Grants Program is sponsored by Philanthropic Ventures Foundation. Grants are available for the school year and summer learning sessions to enhance environmental science curriculum through projects, supplies, teacher professional development, and field trips. Examples include supplies for a gardening club, water testing kits, or materials for a composting unit.

Science Resource Grants Program – Philanthropic Ventures Foundation Grants designed to enhance classroom science curriculum through hands-on learning, projects, supplies, and professional development. Any TK-12 grade teacher working at a low-income public school in Alameda, San Francisco, San Mateo, or Santa Clara County is eligible to apply. Limit of two grants per school and one grant per teacher.

Low-Income Eligibility Guidelines: All Title 1 schools are eligible for all grants within a given program.

If your school does NOT have Title 1 status, the following percentages of students eligible for Free and Reduced-Price Lunch applies: 50% or more – Eligible for all grants within a given program 30% to 49% – Limited to 1 grant Under 30% – Staff will consider requests on a case by case basis Grants of up to $500 will be awarded to teachers for hands-on materials to enhance their classroom science instruction, with a focus on life sciences and chemistry.
