In Finland, the amount of funding available in the 2026 calls is approximately EUR 73 million. The actions and the deadlines of the calls remain largely the same as in previous years, but a new addition this year is European Partnerships for School Development. The European Commission opened the 2026 calls of the Erasmus+ programme on 12 November 2025.

The application period for learning mobility actions in school education, vocational education and training, higher education and adult education (KA1) will end on 19 February 2026 at 13:00 Finnish time. The application period for mobility of sport staff and youth mobility projects (KA1) will end on 12 February 2026 at 13:00 Finnish time.

The spring call for the DiscoverEU Inclusion Action will end on 12 February 2026 at 13:00 Finnish time. There will also be a second call for youth mobility projects (KA1) in the autumn. Its deadline will be 1 October 2026 at 13:00 Finnish time.

The application period for Erasmus+ Partnerships for Cooperation (KA2) will end on 5 March 2026 at 13:00 Finnish time. There will also be a second call in the autumn for small-scale partnerships in youth, the deadline of which will be 1 October 2026 at 13:00 Finnish time. All the above-mentioned actions can be applied for through the Finnish National Agency for Erasmus+.

For actions managed directly by the European Commission , the application periods vary by action, with most of them ending between February and September 2026.

The application period for Erasmus+ Partnerships for Cooperation in the field of sport will end on the same day as the application period for other partnerships for cooperation, i.e. 5 March 2026, even though applications for these are submitted directly to the European Education and Culture Executive Agency EACEA. There will be no call for the European Teacher Academies action in 2026.

The programme’s budget for the 2026 calls is consistent with the 2025 calls The total amount of Erasmus+ funding to be allocated by the Finnish National Agency for Education in the 2026 calls is approximately EUR 73. 1 million . Of this amount, approximately EUR 64.

3 million will be allocated to mobility projects (KA1) and approximately EUR 8 million will be allocated to Partnerships for Cooperation (KA2 ). In addition to this, approximately EUR 800,000 will be allocated to TCA seminars and training. The final amount will be confirmed in January when the Erasmus+ programme committee decides on national Erasmus+ budgets.

Finnish organisations can also apply for funding for Erasmus+ actions managed directly by the European Commission. At the European level, the total amount of funding available in the 2026 calls is nearly EUR five billion. - “During the current programming period, meaning from 2021 onwards, Finland's overall Erasmus+ budget share has increased by 78%.

A new addition this year is European Partnerships for School Development The 2026 calls also include a new action: European Partnerships for School Development. This is a pilot call for school education, open to education or training providers and institutions that provide pre-primary, primary and lower secondary and general upper secondary education, among others.

“The aim of this new action is to support strategic cooperation between key actors in school education and to promote systemic change,” says Sirpa Holmström , head of the Internationalisation Services for General Education and Adult Education Unit at the Finnish National Agency for Education. “The action is based on the objectives of the European education area and the Union of Skills strategy of the European Union.

It will especially support the implementation of policy recommendations adopted in the context of the European education area, such as the ‘Europe on the Move’ learning mobility recommendations,” says Holmström. European Partnerships for School Development are part of Erasmus+ Partnerships for Cooperation (KA2).
