Erasmus+ Mobility Programme for Higher Education Students is sponsored by European Commission. The Erasmus+ Mobility Programme supports students who wish to study or undertake traineeships abroad in Erasmus+ programme countries and partner countries.

Funding for higher education mobility projects - Erasmus+ Funding for higher education mobility projects This funding can support organisations that wish to send students and staff abroad to study, teach, or train at participating institutions, or to take part in a traineeship host incoming students and staff from abroad Funded organisations can be higher education institutions any public or private organisation active in the labour market or in education, training and youth Organisations wanting to take part in these opportunities can either apply as an individual higher education institution part of a ‘mobility consortium’ - a group of organisations managed by a single coordinator Details of the types of consortium members are found under “How to access Erasmus+ higher education mobility opportunities” in the Erasmus+ programme guide .

Applicant organisations must be established in an Erasmus+ Programme country. Participating organisations can be based in Erasmus+ Programme or Partner countries. These countries are also known as "EU Member States or countries associated to the Programme" and "third countries not associated to the Programme."

Individual applicant organisations require an Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE) whether applying individually or as part of a consortium. Mobility consortia require an Erasmus accreditation for higher education mobility consortia. The coordinator applies on behalf of the consortium for this accreditation.

Individual applicants must first submit their ECHE application to EACEA and only when they have been awarded with the ECHE, they submit their request for funding to their national agency. Applicants for a mobility consortium submit their application to their national agency. This agency will assess both the application for accreditation and the request for funding.

For individual higher education institution, this is the agency in the country where the institution is based. For a consortium, this is the agency in the country where the consortium coordinator is based.
