The application window for Ethiopiaid’s 2026 Small Grants Programme will open on Tuesday 1st September 2026 and close on Monday 7 September 2026. Due to limited staff capacity, only the first 50 complete applications received will be considered . Late or incomplete applications will not be reviewed.

Before applying, please review the eligibility criteria and complete the eligibility questions. Thank you for your interest in Ethiopiaid’s Small Grants Programme. To apply for funding through Ethiopiaid’s Small Grants Programme, your organisation must: Be registered as a charity in Ethiopia.

Provide audited accounts for the last two years (there are no exceptions to this). Have a safeguarding policy and demonstrate its implementation. Commit to Ethiopiaid’s safeguarding policy and code of conduct.

Demonstrate how the work will continue after the grant ends. Be willing to complete Ethiopiaid’s Organisation Overview Form online. Have not received funding from Ethiopiaid in the last 2 years.

Can your organisation provide audited accounts covering the last two financial years (a minimum period of 24 months)? If no, your application is not eligible to proceed. 3.

Does your organisation have a safeguarding policy in place and can you demonstrate its implementation? 5. If successful, will your organisation commit to Ethiopiaid’s safeguarding policy and code of conduct?

If no, your application is not eligible to proceed. 6. Can your organisation demonstrate how the proposed project will continue after the grant has ended?

7. Has your organisation received funding from Ethiopiaid within the last two years (24 months)? If yes, your application is not eligible to proceed.

2026 Application Process and Timeline Historically, Ethiopiaid UK has run two funding rounds each year. However, due to increased demand and limited staff capacity, only one application round will be offered in 2026 , with applications accepted in September. Applications will be reviewed and shortlisted, and applicants will be notified of their application status by the end of November 2026.

Shortlisted organisations will be invited to resubmit their budgets and any required amendments in January 2027. Final funding decisions will be communicated in March 2027. Due to limited funding and high demand, previous grantees are not guaranteed further funding.

We strongly recommend submitting your application as early as possible during the September submission period. This will allow time for initial feedback and help avoid any technical or internet-related issues before the final submission deadline of Monday 7 September 2026.
