Eurofins Foundation Grant

Eurofins Foundation Grant is a grant from Eurofins Foundation that funds nonprofit organisations working at the intersection of science, environment, health, and culture. However, we strongly advise you to not wait for the deadline and to apply as soon as possible. We are assessing applications on an ongoing rolling basis, and this review/selection process will stop once we've reached our annual budget limit. Depending on the applications received, this may be before our official deadline date has been reached.

Please note, even with this change, all grant decisions will be communicated during the first half of December. EUROFINS FOUNDATION'S CONTRIBUTIONS 1. The requested funding represents a maximum of 25% of the total annual cost of the project, including staff costs if applicable, and does not exceed €25,000.

Should you receive a grant from the Foundation, a maximum of 10% of the funds can be allocated to overheads. 2. Our grants are intended for projects 9-12 months in duration, implemented between Q4 2026 and Q4 2027.

The 9-12 month period can also be part of a multi-year project. 3. The Eurofins Foundation reserves the right, should the application be successful, to provide a lower amount than requested by the organisation; 4.

Contributions are usually one-off and mostly non-recurring (except funds to Universities, which provide grants to their students); 5. Donations can be split among several projects while remaining impactful and meaningful for the organisations or students / researchers that receive the donations. 1.

The organisation implementing the project is legally registered and has an activities track record of at least 24 months. We will not accept applications from organisations legally registered after January 1, 2024. 3.

The project is impactful and aligned with the objectives of the Foundation; 4. The project description must clearly mention the needs it addresses, its positive impact and the effective use of the funds; 5. The requested funding represents a maximum of 25% of the total annual costs of the project, including staff costs if applicable.

The grant request can also not exceed 25. 000€; 6. Only one application per calendar year per organisation will be accepted; 1.

Projects which do not align with the Foundation's objectives; 2. Commercial sponsorship requests, sponsoring of sports or cultural events, sponsoring of fundraising activities for NGOs and other charitable causes; 3. Projects that are still in a scoping / interview phase; 4.

Projects previously submitted and rejected; 5. Projects/ charities directly affiliated with any political or religious organisation or actively promoting any particular faith or ideology; 6. Organisations which failed to provide the requested impact report for any current or past projects supported by the Eurofins Foundation; 7.

Organisations with overhead ratios higher than 20%. Overheads include such items as HR, advertising, and fundraising campaigns, but do not include the costs of staff working directly on projects. The overhead ratio is a total of these costs expressed as a percentage of all the funds received by the organisation.

8. Incomplete submissions, including missing documents. 1.

The project is realistic and aligned with Eurofins Foundation's objectives; 2. The project addresses 2 or more objectives; 3. The project contributes to a positive and lasting impact (sustainable approach); 4.

The project methodology is sufficiently described and is appropriate; 5. The project is in line with the Foundation's inclusion, equality and diversity values; 6. Eurofins Foundation’s contribution provides a “booster” to the organisation supported, to find additional funding from other sources or make progress beyond the amount that may be contributed by the Eurofins Foundation; 7.

The beneficiary organisation has demonstrated being effective in the past with international grants; 8. Where possible and applicable, projects that, in addition to their primary focus being aligned to the foundation’s areas of focus, are using prevention measures and education to actively contribute to the reduction of inequalities and promote inclusion and diversity are given enhanced consideration for support.

All applications will first be reviewed by the Foundation team to ensure they are complete and aligned with the Foundation’s objectives. It may be that additional information is needed. Any questions will be provided via email.

If you have not received an email from the Foundation's team by October 1st, please consider your application unsuccessful. Applications that have been validated by the team will be notified via email and will then move on to the ‘Review by Steering Committee’ phase. Those applications that receive a positive review by our Steering Committee will receive a ‘Confirmation of Pre-Selection’ email and will move on to a second review phase.

During the first half of December, the applications that have passed the second review phase will receive a ‘Confirmation of grant attribution’ email. The unsuccessful applicants will also be notified via email with the reason(s) of the decision. For all projects validated during the second review phase, funds will be made available between December 2026 and end of Q1 2027.

The Foundation expects a report on the use of the allocated funds. A reporting template will be provided in the fall (September 2027) to all beneficiaries. Any foreseen delays in the project should be proactively notified to the Eurofins Foundation.
