Excellence in STEM Education Grants – Arkansas STEM Coalition Excellence in STEM Education Grants & License Plate Program Each year, the Arkansas STEM Coalition partners with the Arkansas Committed to Education Foundation to encourage Arkansas citizens to purchase an education-themed specialty license plate.
Money raised is used to fund Excellence in STEM Education Grants for Arkansas public schools teaching 3rd, 4th, 5th, or 6th grades. Grant cycles open each August and close in late September or early October. THE 2025-2026 GRANT CYCLE IS CLOSED!

By choosing to purchase a specialty license plate when you register your car tags, Arkansas citizens provide STEM equipment and training to students and teachers across the state. All equipment purchased supports lessons aligned with Arkansas Academic Standards in Computer Science, Mathematics, and/or Science.
Since 2012, more than $1,000,000 has been granted to our public schools to fund STEM equipment and activities for students in grades 3-6 and support for teachers who instruct these students. The Arkansas STEM Coalition has impacted over 55,000 students and over 1,500 teachers in more than 250 schools in the state.
The Arkansas STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) Coalition is the statewide hub of STEM information, created through a robust partnership of leaders from the corporate, education, government, and community sectors.
Together we encourage, coordinate, and advocate for policies, strategies, and programs supporting excellence in STEM education and creating pathways to high-demand, highly-skilled, higher-paying jobs that expand the economy of Arkansas.
