ERIS serves as a digital marketplace that facilitates the submission, assessment, and acquisition of breakthrough technologies through rapid acquisition pathways. This unique initiative enables government organizations to explore and procure innovative solutions efficiently, while offering industry, academia, and individual developers a platform to present their research and technological advancements directly to DARPA .
ERIS is designed to streamline DARPA’s ability to identify, assess, and integrate disruptive, cutting-edge technologies into national security and defense applications. Its primary objectives include: Establishing a centralized repository for groundbreaking technological solutions. Creating a low-barrier entry point for innovators in industry and academia to engage with DARPA.
Providing fast-track assessments for submissions with feedback within 30 days of the collection period. Facilitating rapid procurement of research, prototypes, and experimental solutions. Enabling seamless transition from idea to research, prototype development, and full-scale testing.
ERIS is currently accepting video solution pitches in several strategic areas aligned with DARPA’s mission to create breakthrough defense technologies: Tracking and Detecting Elusive Objects: Innovations in air, land, and space domains. Advancing Sensing Systems: Overcoming size, weight, power, and cost (SWaP-C) limitations. Next-Generation Antenna Technologies: Enhancing performance while reducing physical footprint.
Improving Strategic Systems: Enhancing the efficiency, resilience, and effectiveness of critical infrastructure and military command-and-control systems. Submission Details and Deadlines ERIS operates as an open-call initiative, allowing submissions on a rolling basis from December 9, 2024, to May 30, 2025 .
Here’s what you need to know about the submission process: Submission Periods : Proposals are collected on a monthly basis, with deadlines on the final day of each month at 12:00 PM ET. Assessment Timeline : Submissions received within a given month are reviewed in the following month, with results provided within 30 days.
Proposals must be submitted in video format (up to 7 minutes in length) via DARPA’s online submission portal at us/ERIS . Supporting ERIS Supplemental Slides must be completed following the prescribed template. Submissions must be unclassified and free of proprietary or export-controlled information.
