Facade & Tenant Improvement Grant Grants of up to $7,500 are available on a 1:1 matching basis to support projects that improve the exterior appearance of commercial buildings or enhance tenant spaces.
Eligible projects may include exterior painting and cleaning; masonry repair; new awnings, shutters, or entryways; window or door replacement; restoration of historic features; accessibility improvements; and interior updates necessary for tenant occupancy such as flooring, lighting, or layout adjustments. Submit a Facade & Tenant Improvement Grant application to apply.
Grants of up to $2,500 are available on a 1:1 matching basis to support projects that enhance the appearance and visibility of downtown businesses through improved signage.
Eligible projects may include the design, fabrication, and installation of new exterior business signs; the repair, refurbishment, or repainting of existing signs; updated lighting for improved visibility and energy efficiency; replacement of outdated or damaged signage; or the addition of secondary signs such as blade signs, window decals, or wayfinding markers. Grants of up to $1,000 are available on a 1:1 matching basis to support beautification projects. Projects should focus on enhancing the appearance of business properties through eligible activities that contribute to the overall look and vitality of the business community. The Kane County Office of Tourism is pleased to offer the TRT Tourism Event Grant, designed to provide financial support for tourism-focused events that drive overnight visitation within the county. Eligible events must demonstrate the potential to generate a minimum of 10 hotel room nights within Kane County.
This grant is intended to assist new or developing events during their first three years, supporting their growth until they become self-sustaining. Kane County uses Transient Room Tax (TRT) funds to create and promote events that enhance its appeal to tourists and contribute to the local economy. Applications are accepted annually from May 1st through October 30th for events taking place in the following calendar year.
The application period for 2026 Kane County Tourism Events is now open! Fill out a KCOT grant application to apply. Please note that only one active application per organization is permitted for TRT-funded grants, which also includes the Community Impact Grant.
All submitted applications are reviewed by the approval committee in November, with funding decisions communicated in December. Approved grant funds will be distributed in February of the following year. Community Impact Grant Program The Kane County Commission established the Community Impact Grant to provide financial support for community-driven initiatives that establish and promote tourism or recreation.
The Community Impact Grant is not limited to just events, but is open to a variety of programs, activities, and projects that positively impact our local community. Funding of up to $5000 per initiative may be available. The application period for 2026 Community Impact Grants is now open!

Small Business Grant Program The Kane County Small Business Grant Program offers funding of up to $20,000 for business development projects that promote economic growth in Kane County.
