Conference Reimbursement Grants | Center for the Advancement of Teaching & Learning | Elon University Conference Reimbursement Grants for Teaching and Learning (previously, CATL Faculty Travel Reimbursement Grants) CATL’s Teaching and Learning Conference Travel Reimbursement Grants support faculty in sharing their involvement with the scholarship of teaching and learning and developing their teaching and learning practice.
These grants supplement faculty professional development support from other parts of the University, making it possible for more faculty to make their scholarship on teaching and learning public in national and international spaces and to engage in teaching professional development.
These grants fund travel costs associated with presenting one’s research on the scholarship of teaching and learning or attending a teaching focused conference. They do not fund presentations of disciplinary research. Grants are awarded in amounts of up to $1500 for in-person conferences and up to $500 for virtual conferences.
I am so appreciative that CATL supported me in going to this Faculty Development workshop. This workshop helped me to write a better exam which I gave the day after I got back. I even received a comment on my course evals that the final exam questions were better written!
Talk about immediate feedback. Application: Applications for travel to conferences prior to May 1st, 2025 are due by March 3rd, 2025. Please note, the CATL Grant Reimbursement Form is due May 1st, 2025.
To apply for a Teaching and Learning Conference Reimbursement Grant, please complete the following form. Eligibility : We welcome applications from individual full-time, ongoing teaching faculty. Accessing Funding: Those accepting CATL Teaching and Learning Conference Travel Reimbursement Grants funding will be required to complete the CATL Grant Reimbursement Form .
This form will require you to (1) provide a short overview of the impact of the experience, and (2) copies of all receipts for reimbursement. Note : Completion of Grant Reimbursement Form is required to receive future CATL grant funding. More information: Contact Jill McSweeney .
