Scholarships & Grants | Florida AER The FAER Awards Committee is pleased to provide two scholarships annually to students pursuing degrees in visual disabilities. The application deadline is October 1, 2025. By accepting an FAER Scholarship, a recipient pledges to be employed, following graduation, in a program or agency serving individuals with visual impairments in the State of Florida.
This employment will be required for the duration of the funding that was received. For example, a student who has received funding for two semesters (nine months) will provide service in an education, rehabilitation or related Florida position for at least nine months, or the funding will be returned to FAER. Should repayment not be made, collection agency intervention will be applied, and potential employers notified.

Mini grants are designed to support teachers and rehabilitation specialists of individuals with visual impairments, orientation and mobility specialists, and other service providers in implementing innovative practices, acquiring adaptive materials, and addressing specific individual needs. How much is a Mini Grant? FAER may award up to $1000 per application, not to exceed $3000 annually.
When can I apply? Applications will be collected annually, beginning January 30th and awarded until funds are depleted based on merits of each application. The committee may award funding or a portion of funding requested.
