Family Fund grants for disabled or seriously ill children and young people is sponsored by Family Fund. Family Fund is the UK's largest charity providing grants for families raising disabled or seriously ill children and young people.

Can I apply? - Family Fund To decide if your family is eligible for a grant, Family Fund looks at your income and the impact of disability on your child and young person.

You can apply for a grant if: You are the parent/carer of a child aged between 0 and 24* You are the parent/carer of a child or a young person with a disability or serious illness The child or young person is not in the care of the local authority or in foster care You have lived in the UK for the past six months You are on a low income or receiving benefits Your child or young person needs high levels of support in at least three areas of our child and young person eligibility criteria View the full eligibility criteria *Age restrictions can vary depending on the grant programme.

For full details, please visit the specific grant programme page . As part of your application you will need to upload some supporting documents. It’s good to have these to hand when you start.

We will need to see documents about: a copy of your most recent benefit award letter, or your last three months of payslips. your child’s disability benefits their support learning plan any professional reports detailing the additional support your disabled or seriously ill child receives.

Examples of documents that can be referenced in the application A full copy of the latest Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP) or similar Individual Education Plan (IEP) or school support plan Report detailing the education support provided to help with your child’s additional learning needs, such as an Independent Development Plan (IDP) or Statement of Special Educational Needs.

A report detailing the education support provided to help with your child’s additional support for learning needs, such as a copy of an Additional Support Plan (ASP), Personal Learning Plan (PLP) or GIRFEC A report detailing the education support provided to help with your child’s special educational needs, such as a Statement of Special Educational Needs or an Individual Education Plan (IEP) A supporting letter from a Teacher, SEN staff member, Key worker or Portage team A therapeutical assessment report from a SALT, Neurologist, Audiologist, Clinical Psychologist or Paediatrician A supporting letter from a Doctor, Health Care worker or Therapist Applying through our online application form is the quickest and easiest way to make an application.

Online applications also take less time to process, so you may receive your grant decision more quickly. Please note that you will only be able to access the online application form when there is grant funding available for the country where you live. The application form is currently closed to new applications in Northern Ireland and Wales.

If you’re not able to apply online, you can download an application pack to print, complete, and post back to us. If you are unable to print the form at home, you can request an application pack to be posted to you. You should receive this within 10 working days.

Please note that it costs Family Fund more than £1 for every pack that is printed and posted, so please check your eligibility carefully before you request one. If you are submitting an application for more than one child, you’ll also need to complete additional child form (one per sibling you wish to include in your application). Please note that we are currently closed to applications in Wales, and Northern Ireland.
