Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) Goal Assistance Grant is a program from Habitat for Humanity of Michigan administered through the Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA) that funds FSS program participants working toward greater economic independence.
The grant provides up to per household per calendar year to help participants achieve specific self-sufficiency milestones outlined in their FSS Contract of Participation, such as employment goals, education, or financial savings benchmarks. We will let FSS participants know if the application opens up again at any time in the future. MSHDA’s FSS Goal Assistance Grant allows our participants to use up to $750. 00 per household to provide support.
These funds must be used to help you achieve one of your FSS goals. The funds are limited and available through December 31, 2026. Requests for funding will be reviewed/approved on a first come first serve basis.
Participant has been in the FSS program for at least 6 months. Participant is in good standing with their Housing Choice Voucher and FSS Contract of Participation. Possible Uses for the Funds: Supporting Documentation Needed Enrollment/ Registration Fees Statement/Invoice with vendor information to include address, phone, and website.
