Family Violence Prevention Services (FVPS)

Family Violence Prevention Services (FVPS) is sponsored by Governor’s Office of Crime Prevention and Policy. Provides funding to domestic violence centers for shelter and supportive services to victims and their families.

Family Violence Prevention Services (FVPS) - Governor’s Office of Crime Prevention and Policy Changing Authorized Official Family Violence Prevention Services (FVPS) This grant program makes temporary shelter environments and supportive services available through a network of local domestic violence services programs.

These programs provide comprehensive services to meet the specific needs of domestic violence victims and their families. Providing these services locally increases the likelihood that victims will benefit from these services and that there shall be appropriate linkages to other community-based services as needed.

Additionally, provision of services fosters a coordinated community approach to serving domestic violence victims that includes partnerships with law enforcement, courts, hospitals, local departments of social services, and other related support agencies.

Additionally, FVPS is designed to support the establishment, maintenance, and expansion of programs and projects: to prevent incidents of family violence, domestic violence, and dating violence; to provide immediate shelter, supportive services, and access to community-based programs for victims of family violence, domestic violence, or dating violence, and their dependents; and to provide specialized services for children exposed to family violence, domestic violence, or dating violence, underserved populations, and victims who are members of racial and/or ethnic minority populations.

Also, the number of students affected, mental health services provided and number of participating schools.
