Grantmaking – Field Foundation The Field Foundation’s grantmaking and award programs aim to support community power building in Chicago, amplifying resident voices and catalyzing transformative change. We are intentional about investing and organizing capital, working alongside our grant recipients to help advance resident-set agendas.
We focus primarily on Chicago’s South and West Sides, where our analysis indicates areas of greatest need. Below are links to our program areas as well as an interactive map illustrating our geographic priorities. In partnership with the MacArthur Foundation, we support small and mid-sized arts and culture organizations, which we believe are vital to Chicago’s identity, economy, and social fabric.
We invest strategically in resident-led organizations on Chicago’s South and West Sides to strengthen community power and support lasting change at the neighborhood level. Journalism & Storytelling We invest in fact-based journalism and storytelling that reflects all Chicagoans and supports communities across the city.
Leaders for a New Chicago Our collaboration with the MacArthur Foundation recognizes leaders who are redefining civic leadership and reimagining our city’s future. Funding Eligibility & Priorities We invest primarily in Chicago-based nonprofits serving the Field Foundation’s geographic priority areas, with a focus on Chicago’s South and West Sides.
