By paying for rent and household bills or providing gift cards to purchase gas and groceries, we help people living with cancer focus on their treatment, instead of worrying about daily household stressors. The Foundation also supports limited patient education and patient workshops. NEW!

Provided Financial Support in 2025 Number of Patients Supported in 2025 Financial Support (million) from 2017-2025 Number of Patients Supported from 2017-2025 To receive financial assistance, individuals must meet the following criteria: Have a cancer diagnosis and received treatment within the past 6 months.
Live in the Capital District, as defined by: Albany, Columbia, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Schoharie, Warren, and Washington counties. Individuals seeking financial assistance who are NYOH patients must submit an application through their NYOH care team. Any non-NYOH patients may contact the American Cancer Society’s Hope Club for assistance with submitting an application.
Funds are limited with a per patient maximum, per lifetime, and based on available funds raised by the NYOH Community Cancer Foundation. “I have been struggling with cancer, sometimes I have good days and bad days. I would not survive without your help I did not have food at home, I am out of work because the cancer got me out of work and I live by myself.
